Empress Sade Francois

Born and raised under the banners of the red, gold and green, Sade Francois is a Bobo Shanti, Rastafarian Empress, of the Ethiopian, Africa, Black, international, Congress, Headquarters, hidden within the hilltops of Tunapuna, Trinidad. In their life the world is perceived as “Babylonistic” with all its misleading beliefs and pathways. King Emmanuel Charles Edwards is seen as their spiritual leader. Since childhood she always loved creating and started training herself within different drawing techniques and art styles. At the age of 20, Sade began her career as an artist, having no formal training and with little knowledge about how to exhibit or having visited an art gallery.

Sade, also known as Empress the Artist is also home schooled and self-taught in mixed media artist. She mentions that “because I had just started drawing, I used to look at art in what some may see as the most stereotypical way, as if art wasn’t art unless it looked exactly like a photograph”. Experimenting with colors really allowed her to fully express herself on paper and find what worked and what did not. Because she wants all her works to tell a story she compliments it with lots of recycled materials as well. She does acknowledge that to become a full time artist, supplies and tools aren’t always friendliest to the pockets, so she challenges herself to be able to make art with anything that she can hold within her hands. Sade believes that her “love for making random things allows her to produce the strangest of objects.” See more at Plenty Talent FB
