Kareem Mortimer

Now a Producer and Director at Mercury Rising Media, Kareem first started his career in the film industry when he wrote and served as one of the producers for the 1998 Bahamas Games Documentary at the age of seventeen. Since then, Kareem has made numerous documentaries including for the syndicated show Hip Hop Nation: Notes from the Underground.

Further accolades include the production of the short film Varmint Day, winner of the Best Comedy at the Made In Miami Film Festival, production and editing credits of the feature length documentary Where I’m From, works with Maria Govan (Rain) for HIV and AIDS in The Bahamas and the short narrative, Chance.

In 2006 he directed The Eleutheran Adventure which won the Award for Best Documentary at the Bahamas International Film Festival. His films has been distributed within North America and Germany and Austria.

Released on SHOWTIME his debut feature film Children Of God that has won 17 awards.

His film the Passage received a production grant from The Commonwealth Foundation.
