Navid Lancaster

navid1Navíd (pronounced: Nah-veed) Lancaster is a musician, music producer and the owner of LANCAST Ltd. For the past 10 years Navid has been instrumental in creating many radio commercials, albums and radio programs. His most recent achievements includes composing the soundtrack for 2 award-winning films and serving as the Music Editor for the “I’m Glassing” (BETA) smartphone app for Google Glass.

Throughout his career he has built an impressive portfolio ranging from assisting with the recording of Mungal Patasar’s album “Live at the Little Carib Theatre”, creating Soca Plate remixes for the Soca Twins (Germany) to producing his own albums and soundtracks. He has also co-created programs for the Ministry of Information and produced commercials on behalf of the Ministry of Health and other Governmental agencies throughout Trinidad and Tobago. Navid’s skills has been used in composing the soundtrack for the Steven Taylor film ‘Buck – The Man Spirit’ which won the People’s Choice Award for Best Short at the 2012 Trinidad and Tobago Film Festival and the soundtrack and trailer music for the 2013 Macfarlane Film ‘Jab In The Dark’ which also won the People’s Choice Award that year. Navid also composed music for and is featured in “CARICOMM”, the first interactive Caribbean business magazine app for iPad.

Navid is a member of the Bahá’í Faith and a noted lover of the Japanese language. His talent as a musician included playing the guitar for Broken Mirrorz for which during their twelve year run, played what they called ‘Trini Progressive’ music.

He list his affiliations and accreditations as follows: Member of the Copyright Music Organization of Trinidad and Tobago (C.O.T.T), a holder of the Certificate of Recognition of Caribbean Community Skills Qualification (C.S.M.E.) and a registered Cultural Worker with The National Registry of Artists and Cultural Workers (Ministry of Arts and Multiculturalism). He holds an EDEXCEL BTEC HND in Media and Communications and a BA (Hons) First Class Honors in Media andCommunications from the University of Greenwich, England. He also holds an MA in New Media and Society from the University of Leicester, England
